About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 03801!

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong telemetry skills Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications Chest tube experience Past ICU experience Description: The unit has 25 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. There are no LNA or PCT staff available. The unit is supported by mid-levels, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists around the clock. PT/OT services are available during the day shift. Equipment includes GE monitors, Hamilton Bipaps and Hiflow devices, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres. Documentation is done using the Meditech Expanse system. The scheduling requirement entails 12 shifts per month with 3 shifts per week and 4 weekend shifts per month. Floating is on a rotation basis with travelers floating first. MyCare boards are updated each shift during bedside shift report, which occurs at every change of shift. The unit holds multiple certifications, including a comprehensive stroke center and level 2 trauma center. Desired additional skills include open heart experience, temporary pacing, and Swan-Ganz catheter experience. Procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line, and arterial line placement, as well as chest tube placement.
