Job Description

The Certified Surgical Tech plays a vital role in supporting surgeons during outpatient and ambulatory procedures by preparing the operating room, managing surgical instruments, and ensuring patient safety. Working under direct surgeon supervision, this role requires proficiency in sterile techniques and adherence to compliance standards. The position typically involves standard weekday shifts with occasional weekend or on-call duties and includes handling standard surgical instruments as well as interaction with electronic health records.

 

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (10:45 - 20:45)

On Call Plus rotation required. -- Work one Saturday shift and rotate week

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready
• Handle and pass surgical instruments efficiently during procedures
• Maintain sterilization protocols and infection control standards
• Monitor patients’ status and support compliance with safety guidelines
• Set up and maintain surgical equipment and instruments
• Manage inventory and ensure availability of necessary surgical tools
• Coordinate with surgical teams to facilitate smooth operation flow
• Respond to emergencies in the operating room as directed

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in surgical technology
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with operating room procedures and patient safety standards
• Understanding of infection control and anatomy
• Excellent team collaboration and attention to detail
