Program Aide at IS 187 - Brooklyn, NY IS 187 - Brooklyn, NY 11219 Overview Salary Range $25.00 - $25.00 Hourly Position Type Part Time Description The Program Aide reports to the Program Director and is responsible for assisting with the daily operations and administrative requirements of a school-based after-school program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support program administrative efforts, including assistance with attendance records and data entry, participant files, incident and accident reports, scheduling, and other program records. Remain responsive and accountable on all administrative tasks, including responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner, adhering to submission deadlines, and completing all administrative tasks as assigned. Assist with daily program operations and logistics, including the oversight of program transitions and key program times such as arrival, snack, and dismissal. Serve as substitute within activity classrooms as needed. Adhere to the program's established mental health response and referral plan. Personally complete required Mental Health training, including Mental Health and Mental Illness, Engagement and De-Escalation Strategies, Referral and Crisis Management Protocols, and Mental Health Resources. Support on-site Inclusion efforts, working alongside program managers to identify and support student needs. Assist in ensuring that program operates safely, including maintaining safe spaces and program practices; adhering to requirements for scheduled fire drills and other safety drills; being vigilant of staff and student interaction, signs of child abuse/maltreatment/neglect, and signs of mental health emergencies. Respond according to established organization and site-based plan in the event of on-site injuries or medical emergencies. Assist in ensuring that the program operates in compliance with all DOH/licensing mandates. Support a strong sense of community which values respect, ensuring that all children and families feel welcome and a sense of belonging. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including topics required to maintain organization compliance with funder and licensing requirements. Additional tasks as assigned to meet organizational goals. Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma required. 1-2 years of prior administrative experience required; experience working in a school, or an educational setting preferred. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, email correspondence, and database management is required; familiarity with funder databases is a plus.
