The Physical Therapist will plan and administer treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall wellness and mobility in patients. They will work with both in-patient and out-patient clients in a collaborative care setting, with a particular focus on the needs of the geriatric population. The Physical Therapist is expected to provide services consistent with professional standards of practice, ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations, and deliver exceptional care to enhance the quality of life of patients. Flexible Contract Opportunity 1099 Independent Contractor

• Advance Scheduling: Coverage requests will be communicated well in advance. There will be no last-minute, same-day phone calls or rush requests. You will have ample time to review and determine your availability for the requested dates or periods of work.
• Complete Flexibility: As a 1099 independent contractor, you have the freedom to decide when and if you'd like to work. There is no obligation to commit to specific days or shifts you work on your terms, only when you're available.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients.
• Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
• Maintain work area, exam rooms and supplies.
• Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
• Follows all of facility's Care and Rehab Services policies and procedures.
• Adhere to employer work practices as described in Cayuse Federal policies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
• Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Manager/Director of Rehab Services.
• Attends meetings as requested.
• Serving the in-patient and out-patient needs, a continuing care retirement community, our physical therapists will be required to:
• Review patients' medical history and referrals or notes from doctors, surgeons, or other healthcare workers
• Diagnose patients' functions and movements by observing them stand or walk and by listening to their concerns
• Develop individualized plans of care for patients, outlining the patients' goals and the expected outcomes of the plans
• Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain, help them increase their mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness
• Evaluate and record a patients' progress, modifying the plan of care and trying new treatments as needed
• Educate patients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process and how to cope with challenges throughout the process
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications Here's What You Need:

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy program
• The therapist must have successfully completed the clinical affiliation requirements prescribed by the school, as well as the National Board Examination.
• Two (2) years of professional physical therapy experience, in the field of geriatrics
• A valid current license in the District of Columbia

• Initial Application for Clinic Privileges
• Delineation of Privileges
• Statement of Application
• Privacy Act Statement

• CPR Certification (BLS)
• Continuing Education Certificates
• National Criminal Background Check
• Drug Screening
• PPD and Vaccination Record (Influenza, COVID-19)
• Td/TdaP (up to date)
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Must possess problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
• Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
• Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
• Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.

Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation Services

Working Conditions:

• This position is an on-call on an as needed basis.
• Independent Contractor assignments are not guaranteed for any length of time and hours may vary.
• Professional clinic setting.
• Ability work Monday-Friday 7:30A.M to 4:00PM.
• On-site parking available.
• May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
• May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
• Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
• Visual acuity to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.
• Physical ability includes sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care service.
• Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
• May be exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
