Payroll Specialist (Construction Industry)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage the full-cycle payroll process for our construction company.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately using ADP Workforce Now .
• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
• Review and verify employee timecards, job costing, and labor allocations.
• Process union and non-union payroll, when applicable.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Reconcile payroll reports, payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and general ledger accounts.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and year-end reporting, including W-2 preparation.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Work closely with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
• Assist with payroll audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience , preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll is preferred.
• Knowledge of certified payroll, prevailing wage, union payroll, and job costing is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.

Language Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, and management in both languages.
