Job Description TheCommunity Outreach Specialistwill provide program orientations, WorkinTexas.com registrations, one-on-one or small group setting workshops and program presentations. Eligibility for WIOA could be verified to educate participants on the program and services available. Provide screening for program eligibility and job search assistance. Prioritize assignments and recognize the need to adjust or adapt within a group setting or deliver one-on-one services. Interact with job seekers to ensure appropriate matches with employers' needs and job postings. Ensure data entry, documentation, tracking and reporting are completed in a timely manner. Support team with program workshops, including but not limited to interviewing skills, resume writing, and job search techniques. Facilitate orientations and presentations for workforce center services on a consistent basis Travel from site to site and between workforce centers as needed. Coordinate and communicate timely and professionally with community organizations. Serve as point of contact for customers interested in youth workforce services Flexibility to co-locate within community based and non-profit organizations to provide workforce services to participants and/or families on-site. Qualifications Associates Degree from a recognized community college or four-year college or university, and/or comparable years of related case management and job matching experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrate reliability and able to work independently. Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources. Public speaking experience. Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with management, coworkers, workers from other programs as well as the public. Must be organized and detailed oriented. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Position pays $22.84 per hour Monday - Friday.
