Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown PCU

Location: Plano, TX

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Stepdown Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Stepdown PCU.
• Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and ongoing care plans.
• Participate in patient rounds and contribute to patient evaluations.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the hospital's documentation system.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting and 2 years in a specialized care unit.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification required.
• Licensure: Active RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted.
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Meditech system and prior experience in PCU/Stepdown settings.

Work Schedule

This position requires weekend shifts every other week. The expected weekly hours are guaranteed at 36.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Nail Policy: Nails must be clean and healthy; artificial nails, gel, or next-gen nails are not permitted.
• Hair: Neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not acceptable. Hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer.
• Facial Hair: Mustaches and sideburns should be neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible; those unable to cover will be addressed individually.
• Body Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited.

Additional Unit Guidelines

• Floating within units may be required as needed.
• Attendance policies will align with company-wide standards.
