Data Center Logistics Associate - 1st Shift

About the Role As a Data Center Logistics Associate, you will play a critical role in the seamless operation of our data center. Your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on inventory management, shipping and receiving, facility maintenance, compliance and safety, collaboration across cross‑functional teams, and assembly of server racks. Your work will help ensure efficient data center operation and a clean, organized workspace. Typical Day – Responsibilities Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming inventory, maintain accurate inventory records, and perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies. Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate with suppliers and carriers, prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging, and upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy. Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and shipping/receiving docks, and assist with disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, comply with data center security measures and access controls, and escort contract employees to and from assigned work areas. Support and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, provide support for special projects and initiatives, complete other duties as required with consideration for quality, safety, and efficiency, and support leads with system updates. Assembly: Assist in setup and installation of computer server racks, help assemble racks by following diagrams and guidelines, handle basic tools safely, and support senior technicians in cable management. Requirements At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. 2 or more years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields. Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word). Ability to perform basic math calculations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions. Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Preferred Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Positive, respectful, and professional attitude. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move heavy material and handle server trays and racks. Use power equipment to move very heavy server racks under established safety protocols and guidelines.
