Senior Rack Refrigeration & HVAC Technician

Woodstock, IL WM Supercenter #3434 1275 Lake Ave Woodstock, IL 60098-7415 Position Summary Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician What you’ll do Support and oversee repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills. Job Duties Maintain and repair warehouse refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment. Utilize work order management system to receive repair orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls. Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues. Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely. Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines. Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights. Minimum Qualifications 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance. Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience. Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling. Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report. Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 8 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in A/C and Refrigeration. Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s in applied science A/C and refrigeration. Excellent driving record. Prior experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.
