Paralegal Specialist - Real Estate

Our Legal team is looking for driven associates who thrive on delivering innovative business solutions and extraordinary care to our customers. Hybrid Schedule: 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. Core Duties and Responsibilities Provides general legal support services to attorneys and counsel on real estate and development matters, including drafting legal and business communications, and maintaining internal systems. Performs acquisition/financing due diligence, including title and survey review, and prepares closing documents. Assists in the development and training on internal policies and procedures. Maintains internal databases of various information, assembling closing binders, electronic filing and organizing documents. Coordinates lease activities including gathering lease exhibits and tenant default notices. Other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Provides support to attorneys in legal research, drafting communications, and preparing legal documents with minimal direction. Conducts sophisticated legal research, analyzes statutes, regulations, court decisions, and prepares summaries and recommendations. Drafts contracts, patent applications, resolutions, deposition outlines, motions, pleadings, subpoenas, orders, and briefs. Evaluates and supervises broad-level assignments; may assist attorneys in executing legal matters. Leads analysis for discovery in litigation specialty areas and drafts correspondence to clients, claims attorneys, and customers. Develops and maintains information databases and builds new processes for data maintenance, storage, and retrieval. Conducts and evaluates open and closed paralegal file audits; advises attorneys and management of results and recommends improvements. Demonstrates expertise in paralegal concepts and procedures; maintains proficiency in business and legal professional competencies. Assists in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and precedents for the paralegal area. Coordinates workflow and mentors and trains less experienced paralegals. Responds to requests for production of documents, answers to interrogatories, and coordinates pre‑trial proceedings and discovery. Reporting Relationships Reports to Counsel/Paralegal Supervisor; may have the opportunity to lead a team of up to three associates. Typical Skills and Experiences Education: Undergraduate or post‑graduate studies in business administration, insurance, or a related area preferred. License/Certification/Designation: Certification in paralegal studies preferred. Experience: Eight or more years of paralegal experience with demonstrated good performance. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Advanced knowledge of paralegal concepts, practices, and procedures; significant knowledge of general counsel or civil litigation operations; proven legal research and complex deposition and appellate procedures. Sophisticated analytical, research, and organizational skills; ability to set work priorities; self‑starter with minimal direction; proven leadership and support abilities; strong verbal and written communication; computer and legal software proficiency. Other criteria, including leadership skills, may take precedence. Job Conditions Overtime eligibility: Eligible (Non‑Exempt). Working conditions: Normal office environment, occasional travel; non‑standard or extended work may be required based on project needs. Placement within the actual starting salary range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; additional conditions of employment may apply. If a sales position, sales incentives may be possible. Note on compensation for part‑time roles: The salary ranges listed below reflect full‑time compensation and may be prorated based on hours worked relative to a full‑time schedule.
