Universal Banker

Overview Mechanics Bank is seeking a full‑time Universal Banker to join our Albany Branch. Responsibilities Perform teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and receipt of mail or night drop. Accept, verify and process basic to complex customer transactions while adhering to security and regulatory guidelines. Maintain and balance a cash supply; balance cash at the end of each shift in accordance with bank policies. Provide comprehensive deposit services to individuals, fiduciary, and small business customers. Promote deposit products and services that best meet client needs. Assist customers with account maintenance, online and mobile banking, and resolve complex account issues. Identify and pursue new or related customer opportunities for additional products and services. Review account transactions for red flags, fraud indicators, and current criminal scams; prevent fraud and refer issues beyond teller line. Process consumer loan and small business loan applications; review packages and keep applicants informed of status. Ensure compliance with internal standards, Federal and State regulations, and review work of others for compliance. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (minimum). Minimum of 2years of customer service experience. Minimum of 1year of banking and cash handling experience. Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member. Knowledge of bank deposit products, alternative services, and vendor‑provided products. Salary & Benefits Pay Range: $21.00–$27.00 per hour. Eligible for a Retail Incentive Plan. Employees working 25hours or more per week are eligible for health benefits effective the first day of the month following hire.
