Patient Service Representative (Part-Time, 2024 Hours per Week)
Position Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while managing scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and administrative support functions. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
Schedule
- Part-time: 2024 hours per week
- Flexible weekday schedule as assigned
- Occasional coverage for staff absences may be required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, procedures, and office policies.
- Process patient registration forms and obtain required documentation.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes and emails.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to use a computer and telephone throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
