It’s early in the shop. You open a new job packet, study the blueprints and operation sheets, and map out your approach. You prep a CNC lathe for a production run, dial in offsets on a 3–4 axis VMC, and then move to a manual mill for a tight-tolerance feature that demands a craftsman’s touch. Between cycles, you verify geometry against GD&T callouts, log measurements with precision instruments, and coach a junior machinist on setup steps. By the afternoon, you rotate to grinders, drill presses, or a hone as needed—keeping parts moving, tolerances tight, and quality uncompromised.

• Set up and operate a broad range of machine tools to complete single or progressive operations on standard parts.
• Work across CNC and manual equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers, and balancers.
• Read, interpret, and apply blueprints and operation sheets to plan and execute work.
• Use shop math and precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to GD&T requirements.
• Troubleshoot CNC machines and assist less experienced machinists when needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of hands-on shop or manufacturing experience required; 3–6 years machining experience preferred.
• Experience running a manual milling machine strongly preferred.
• Completion of Technical School training preferred.
• Must be a US Citizen.
