Director of Supply Chain Job Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading and optimizing Pompeian's end-to-end supply chain operations, production planning, inventory management, procurement of packaging and finished goods materials, import logistics, domestic transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics operations. This role provides strategic leadership to ensure the efficient flow of materials and finished goods throughout the supply chain while maintaining exceptional customer service levels, optimizing working capital, reducing costs, and supporting company growth objectives. The Director of Supply Chain will lead continuous improvement initiatives, develop strong supplier and logistics partner relationships, monitor industry trends and market conditions, and drive operational excellence across all supply chain functions. This position will report to the VP of Operations, offers a hybrid role 2 days remote, and 3 days on site at 4201 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore at corporate HQ. for Pompeian.

Director of Supply Chain Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
• Must have at least 2 years' experience in a director role
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and cross-functional teams
• Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and logistics
• Proven experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies and cost-reduction initiatives
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, inventory investments, working capital, and cost optimization initiatives
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects
• Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel applications
• Power BI is preferred

Director of Supply Chain Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company's annual & long-term supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans
• Lead the planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution functions across all manufacturing locations, copackers, warehouses, and distribution centers
• Establish long-term supply chain capabilities that improve service, efficiency, resilience, and profitability
• Serve as the primary supply chain advisor to senior leadership regarding risks, opportunities, market trends, industry developments, and strategic initiatives
• Provide strategic oversight of supply chain planning, inventory management, procurement, and replenishment processes
• Ensure appropriate inventory policies are maintained to balance service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency
• Drive inventory optimization initiatives across all facilities, copackers, and third-party locations
• Monitor forecast accuracy and develop action plans to improve planning effectiveness
• Oversee procurement of packaging materials, finished goods, supply chain-related services and develop logistics strategies that improve service levels while reducing transportation and distribution costs
• Develop sourcing strategies that ensure continuity of supply, competitive pricing, and supplier performance
• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide oversight of import logistics, freight forwarding, customs activities, warehousing, domestic transportation, and distribution operations
• Ensure effective management of third-party logistics providers, freight brokers, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouse partners & Lead transportation optimization initiatives and network efficiency projects
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions and business risks while monitoring geopolitical events, port congestion, labor issues, regulatory changes, and market conditions that may impact the supply chain
• Develop annual supply chain operating budgets and monthly forecasts, including freight, warehousing, packaging procurement, inventory carrying costs, and third-party logistics expenses
• Partner closely with Finance to develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range business plans while monitoring supply chain spending against budget and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, landed cost calculations, freight allocations, and cost accounting practices
• Lead efforts to identify and quantify transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain operations
• Review and approve significant supply chain expenditures, purchase commitments, freight agreements, contracts
• Lead negotiations for strategic supplier, transportation, warehousing, and service contracts to secure favorable pricing, service levels, and commercial terms
• Provide executive leadership with regular reporting on supply chain financial and efficiency performance, cost trends, inventory investment, working capital, and savings initiatives
• Establish and monitor key supply chain performance indicators and dashboards, utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and identify operational opportunities
• Lead initiatives focused on cost reduction, service improvement, inventory optimization, process standardization, and automation while staying informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments that may create opportunities or risks for the business
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for direct reports and broader supply chain teams, conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, support succession planning and organizational capability development
• Establish performance goals & development plans, ensure supply chain activities support customer service objectives, business growth & company objectives
• Drive initiatives that improve order fulfillment, on-time delivery performance, customer satisfaction and support new product launches, business expansions, and strategic projects
• Support Pompeian's sustainability initiatives and environmental goals
