Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Telemetry-remote monitoring - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - IV insulin protocols - Colostomy care - Feeding tube care and management - Pre/Post hemodialysis management - Blood product administration - Central line blood draw - Peripheral line care/management - Phlebotomy - PICC line management - Starting IVs - Heparin - PCA - Chest tubes management - CPAP/BiPAP - High flow nasal cannula - Non-invasive airway management - Oral suctioning - Oxygen face masks - Isolation precautions - Wound care/wound vac Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and must be pre-approved. Any call-offs or additional time-off could lead to cancellation. The expected patient ratio is 1:5-6. Contract staff will be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Floating to other units may be required. Must complete EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Daily census is typically 41 patients. Common patient diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, and COPD. Unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Vaccination for flu is required, with exemptions considered.
