Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Patient ratio typically 1:5-6. Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive Med/Surg unit with telemetry capabilities and remote cardiac monitoring
• Diverse patient population including medical/surgical diagnoses, COVID patients, dementia, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and post-operative care
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
• 24-hour orientation period with comprehensive onboarding during first week
• Accepts first-time travelers with minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to contract start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, wound care, feeding tube management, and central/peripheral line care
• Competency with non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen delivery systems
• Ability to float to other units as needed and work weekend shifts as scheduled
• Willingness to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
