Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support aircraft electrical design, testing, substantiation, and certification activities. This role will contribute to aircraft cabin safety requirements, certification documentation, design changes, and small STC/PMA projects while collaborating with engineering teams, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and airline customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace or electrical engineering, familiarity with Airbus and Boeing aircraft processes, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight .

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical test plans, checklists, and inspection plans.

• Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports supporting aircraft cabin safety requirements.

• Prepare presentations and technical materials for engineering and project meetings.

• Manage small STC/PMA projects related to electrical requirements and associated data deliverables.

• Coordinate supplier responses and address inquiries, significant issues, and airworthiness concerns.

• Identify applicable major design changes that impact aircraft electrical systems or requirements.

• Support relationships and coordination with certification and regulatory agencies.

• Interface with airline customers during troubleshooting activities at flight-test locations, test laboratories, and jigs.

• Support engineering activities related to aircraft electrical design and certification requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related scientific field strongly preferred.

• 2 5 years of overall engineering experience . Engineering internships and co-op assignments may be applied toward the experience requirement.

• Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight .

• Knowledge of aircraft processes and substantiation techniques associated with Airbus and Boeing aircraft .

• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office .

• Familiarity with aircraft mechanical and structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods, and aerospace hardware.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor in a professional engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of aircraft interiors .

• Experience as a Design Engineer or Substantiation Engineer .

• Working knowledge of FAR regulations and aircraft certification .

• Experience supporting STC/PMA projects and aircraft certification activities.

• Experience coordinating with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) is a plus.
