Senior Pharmacy TechnicianThe Senior Pharmacy Technician (Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III) supports safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution throughout the hospital. This role performs advanced pharmacy technician functions related to the filling and dispensing of unit-dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments. The Senior Pharmacy Technician demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty pharmacy areas and plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of automated dispensing systems and medication workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesFill and dispense oral and IV medications accurately and efficientlyPrepare and distribute unit-dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departmentsTriage and prioritize patient medication orders to support timely care deliveryMaintain and support the integrity of Automated Dispensing Systems (ADS/ADMs)Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to support medication workflowsIdentify and escalate discrepancies or system issues to pharmacy leadershipApply advanced knowledge and skills in two or more pharmacy specialty areasSupport safe medication practices and compliance with pharmacy policies and proceduresAssist pharmacists and healthcare teams as needed to optimize medication useRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDOregon Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire OR Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hireExperience Requirements (one of the following): Minimum 2 years (4,160 hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, ORMinimum 3 years (6,240 hours) of hospital pharmacy experience without PTCB certificationPrior experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and Electronic Health Records (EHR)Preferred QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training programAdvanced PTCB certifications, such as: Compounded Sterile ProductsAdvanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv)Medication HistoryControlled SubstancesSpecialty certification (e.g., ACPE-approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
