Details Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (Cardio PICU) of a hospital environment Cares for pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular health problems Days shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products Obtains and monitors physiological data, intervening as necessary Requirements Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) Minimum of one year of nursing experience required CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting required Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services Additional Information Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and notes changes in physician orders Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying for another contract American Traveler Job ID P-748861.
