Associate Attorney

Position Summary Associate Attorney – California (Labor and Employment, General Liability, and Mass Tort groups). This role offers potential advancement to Senior Associate, Of Counsel, or Partner. If you possess a strong work ethic and want to work in our California practice group, we are hiring for these groups. Job Responsibilities Draft, review, and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery. Attend hearings, meetings with clients, and depositions. Assist with mediation and trial preparation and participation. Billable work; willing and able to bill. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications California bar license in good standing. J.D. from an ABA‑approved law school. Minimum of 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in General Liability, Mass Tort, Toxic Tort, Construction Defect, Labor & Employment, or insurance defense litigation. Experience managing up to 20 cases, taking & defending depositions, court appearances, motion & discovery drafting; mediation & trial experience plus mentoring junior associates considered assets. Basic computer skills – operation, internet, spreadsheet, word processing; proficiency with Microsoft products preferred. Self‑motivated, self‑starter, strong client communication, excellent oral and written communication. Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure and short deadlines. Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct per attorney rules.
