A well-established Phoenix law firm is looking to add an Associate Attorney to its growing Insurance Defense practice. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced trial lawyers.

From the start, you'll have the opportunity to take on substantive litigation responsibilities and work closely with an experienced defense team on a variety of general liability, professional malpractice, and complex tort matters.

Responsibilities:

• Litigation Oversight: Manage matters throughout the litigation process, from initial case assessment through settlement, resolution, or trial.
• Legal Writing: Draft and review pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other case-related documents.
• Discovery & Depositions: Lead and participate in discovery, including preparing for and taking or defending depositions.
• Court & Client Advocacy: Appear in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, motions, and other proceedings as appropriate.
• Case Strategy: Work alongside experienced attorneys to evaluate claims, assess exposure, and develop effective defense strategies for complex matters.

What We're Looking For:

• Education & Bar Admission: J.D. from an accredited law school with admission to practice in Arizona, or eligibility for admission.
• Experience: Attorneys with prior litigation experience are encouraged to apply. The firm is also open to attorneys earlier in their careers and willing to provide training to a motivated candidate with a strong interest in litigation.
• Professional Skills: Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and organizational abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
• Approach: A motivated, proactive attorney who takes initiative, works well independently and as part of a team, and is interested in developing meaningful courtroom and advocacy experience.
