Design Engineer III - Electronics

DescriptionPosition at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office. Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site. JOB TITLE: Design Engineer III RESPONSIBILITIES:This is a Hybrid Work Position following company policy (currently 4 days in the office and 1 day work from home). Upon Managers discretion, skill development needs, status of the project, and others, employees may be required to work in the office all 5 days.Create / maintain and ownership fuse box 3D design, design changes, and drawings within Unigraphics (NX).Interpret, maintain and develop schematics / BOMs.Create / maintain projects to program timing and due dates.Support / conduct internal meetings and design reviews.Interface with customer; meetings, design reviews, build support, etc.Develop DFMEA, DVP&R, 5P documents.Interpret and apply GD&T to SEWS drawings.Travel may be required (>10%).Work with Team on Continuous Improvement Activities.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.5+ years engineering experience required.Required Unigraphics (NX) CAD experience.Fuse Box Design / Engineering Experience.
