Senior Registered Nurse - Cancer Center

This role is for a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in oncology care, responsible for coordinating patient care using the nursing process and the Parkland nursing practice model. Key responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering chemotherapy and other treatments, managing intravenous access, and monitoring patient responses. Qualifications require a nursing degree from an accredited school , minimum two years of nursing experience , with extensive oncology experience preferred. Necessary certifications include a current RN license, BLS certification, and an ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certificate within six months . Skills needed encompass clinical expertise in oncology , intravenous access skills , effective communication , patient advocacy , and the ability to serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, and resource . Additional duties involve patient education, documentation, compliance with regulations, participating in community outreach, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.
