Senior Financial Analyst

Job Overview Senior Financial Analyst – Global Operations and Quality Finance – Abbott Diabetes Care Division, headquartered in Alameda, CA. This onsite role supports Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area with financial analysis, planning, reporting, and internal control. What You’ll Do Provide month‑end close support for the Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area in compliance with Division and Corporate reporting requirements. Prepare and validate journal entries, in coordination with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams. Report and analyze actual vs forecast results. Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled, explain fluctuations, and review analysis with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly. Perform forecasting and analysis for operating expenses, capital and project expenses, and balance sheet items. Manage assets for the area, including settlement and periodic verification. Ensure adequate internal controls and participate in ad‑hoc meetings and projects. Establish, develop, and implement financial planning processes and procedures to support senior management decision‑making. Maintain a liaison relationship with the area, providing finance guidance and forecasting support. Experience You’ll Bring Required: Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics). 3‑5 years of financial analysis/FPA experience. Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systems. Knowledge of principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting. Highly proficient in MS Office, especially Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills at multiple organization levels. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make recommendations and problem‑solve. Preferred: Master’s Degree / MBA. Experience with SAP, Hyperion EssBase and Power BI. Work Shift: Standard Travel: Yes, approximately 10% of the time. Medical Surveillance: No Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day), keyboard use (≥ 50% of the workday).
