Senior Financial Analyst

Assist in completing capital and operating budgets Prepare benchmark reporting, product line reporting, financial projections, profitability analysis, payor analysis, business plans, pricing analysis, and cost center reporting Support the Decision Support team in developing pro-forma and profit and loss analyses Prepare business and market analyses, including market share, demographics, payer, utilization, patient origin, and physician need assessments Research and compile information for internal and external reports presented to executive management, the Board of Directors, and outside consultants Educate finance staff, management, and executive leadership on financial topics Train operational staff and finance staff on systems and software applications Serve as a resource to department managers and Mercyhealth executives in interpreting financial information Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial systems and databases Manage organizational survey projects through research design, questionnaire development, sample selection, data analysis, and reporting Develop analyses, databases, and tools for efficient information management Perform data collection, ad hoc analysis, and other assigned duties Communicate financial results and analysis to leadership and assist with operational improvements Develop and maintain system-wide financial models and templates Maintain the cost accounting system, including overhead allocations, RVUs, and reclassifications/adjustments Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field 2 years of healthcare experience Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement programs, coding, and billing preferred Knowledge of StrataJazz, Microsoft Access, Crystal reporting, and SQL a plus Ability to perform budgeting, financial modeling, profitability analysis, cost accounting, market analysis, financial projections, payor analysis, pricing analysis, and cost center reporting Ability to use planning, analytical, research, and data intelligence tools Ability to develop and maintain databases and financial models Ability to communicate effectively with leadership on financial results, analysis, and reporting Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and healthcare reimbursement, with a strong ability to communicate financial insights to leadership. Proficient in developing financial models and conducting market analyses to support strategic decision-making.
