Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced MES (POMSnet) Recipe Author to support the development, configuration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of manufacturing recipes within the POMSnet Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

The contractor will collaborate with process engineers, MES leads, validation teams, quality teams, and manufacturing personnel to translate manufacturing processes and technical specifications into executable MES recipes and Electronic Batch Records (eBR). The role requires hands-on POMSnet recipe authoring experience and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments.

Key Responsibilities

Recipe Development and Configuration

• Author, modify, and maintain POMSnet manufacturing recipes and associated MES objects.
• Configure recipes, unit procedures, operations, phases, equipment and material control logic, recipe parameters, calculations, bills of materials (BOMs), and equipment references.
• Translate manufacturing process descriptions, batch records, and technical specifications into MES recipe functionality.
• Ensure recipe configurations comply with site standards and approved design specifications.

Testing and Validation

• Develop and execute unit and integration tests for recipe changes.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Performance Qualification (PQ), and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during testing and validation.
• Collaborate with validation teams to maintain complete, accurate, and traceable documentation.

Deployment and Production Support

• Support recipe migrations across Pilot, PQ, and Production environments.
• Assist with go-live preparation, deployment readiness, and implementation activities.
• Provide operational support during hypercare periods.
• Troubleshoot recipe execution issues and implement approved corrections.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to standardize and simplify recipe design.
• Support the development of reusable recipe templates.
• Collaborate with MES architects and site teams to improve recipe authoring efficiency, consistency, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• 3 5 years of experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Hands-on experience authoring and configuring recipes in POMSnet .
• Experience supporting GMP-regulated manufacturing environments .
• Understanding of Electronic Batch Records (eBR), manufacturing process flows, equipment and material management, validation, testing, and change control procedures.
• Ability to interpret process descriptions, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), batch records, and technical specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in biologics, pharmaceutical, or medical device manufacturing.
• Knowledge of SAP and LIMS integrations.
• Familiarity with equipment integration concepts and ISA-88 batch control principles.
• Experience supporting global site deployments, production releases, and hypercare activities.

Expected Deliverables

• Author and modify POMSnet recipes in accordance with approved specifications.
• Complete recipe configuration and testing within established project timelines.
• Support defect resolution throughout validation and deployment.
• Maintain compliant documentation, testing evidence, and change records.
• Participate in deployment readiness reviews and hypercare support.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have practical, hands-on experience with POMSnet recipe authoring, a solid understanding of MES functionality, and experience working in GMP manufacturing environments. Candidates with pharmaceutical, biologics, or medical device manufacturing experience and exposure to recipe testing, validation, and deployment will be preferred.

Note: This is a remote, three-month contract supporting the Tech Ops team under the direction of the MES Lead. Occasional off-hours support may be required during deployments or hypercare, depending on project needs.
