A Brief Overview:

Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.

What You Will Do:

• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy.
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred)
• Work Experience: less than 1 year Entry level (Required)
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development. Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures. Display initiative to perform job duties. Ability to work in fast paced environment. Ability to multi-task. Competent on venipuncture for all ages.
• Licenses and Certifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred Upon Hire)
