Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 1.5-2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in a Step-Down/Immediate Care Unit (SDU) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes progressive care and telemetry-level acuity patients
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 during emergencies
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), weekdays with some weekends
• Blocked schedules considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience required; 2+ years of Step-Down experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
• IV insertion skills required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• A copy of your driver's license and Social Security card are required for consideration
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Patient acuity varies and may reflect progressive care or telemetry-level needs typical of larger facilities
• Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
