About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS BCLS CPI NIHSS Must-Have: Experience at a Level 1 facility EPIC required Description: Must be willing to work 4 of the 8 designated holidays. Holidays include Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, December 26, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. This is a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. The emergency department sees approximately 130 patients per day and has 42 beds, including 5 trauma rooms. First-timers are accepted. Every other weekend work is required. There is no on-call requirement. Clinicians will not float outside of their scope to meet facility needs. Accommodations for block scheduling may be available at manager discretion. All requests for time off must be submitted with the application. Experience in the following is required: Management of arterial lines Management of BiPAP/CPAP Blood product administration Care of ventilated patients Central line care and management Management of continuous IV sedation Management of cerebrovascular accidents General emergency department care for both adults and pediatrics Trauma experience related to gunshot wounds Interpretation of arterial blood gases Interpretation of dysrhythmias Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols Administration of IV vasopressors Experience with neuro-trauma Experience with orthopedic trauma Phlebotomy Procedural sedation administration and monitoring Management of traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries Triage experience Daily patient ratio is 4-5 patients per nurse. The facility has adult and geriatric patient age groups. The daily census includes approximately 130 visits. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams. Travelers will need to complete OSHA Respirator Clearance. Fit testing is required, and travelers must adhere to requirements for mask sealing. Care must be taken for strict adherence to all policies regarding fit testing and required equipment. All travelers must complete modules prior to starting. Modules vary in length and are recorded on transcripts.
