Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler Job Description
This role is responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, repairing, and refurbishing robotic parts and machines. You will follow detailed work instructions, drawings, schematics, and checklists while supporting continuous improvement of robot repair and refurbishment processes to meet both internal and external customer needs and overall business objectives.
Responsibilities- Assemble, test, inspect, and repair electro-mechanical robot assemblies by following work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and checklists.
- Perform assembly and sub-assembly work using hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments such as micrometers.
- Inspect and troubleshoot robotic parts and machines to identify defects or issues and perform necessary repairs or refurbishments.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve processes and procedures for robot repair and refurbishment to support business objectives.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and PCB layout files to guide assembly, wiring, and modification activities.
- Modify wire harnesses and printed circuit boards (PCB) as needed, following instructions and quality standards.
- Set up test benches with power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators according to instructions for testing robotic systems and components.
- Perform soldering and de-soldering of small electronic components as required for assembly, repair, or rework.
- Prioritize safety, quality, and teamwork in all tasks, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and handled.
- Accurately record manufacturing and process data using MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software and perform data entry in a timely and precise manner.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Assist in training other team members on assembly procedures, tools, equipment, and best practices.
- Support other departments with in-process inspections, material handling, and related activities as needed.
- Perform warehouse and inventory duties related to pre-count inventory and material control.
- Install and remove small parts, screws, and components using hand tools with a high level of mechanical aptitude and care to avoid damage.
- Adhere strictly to established processes and procedures while providing detailed status updates and feedback to management.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, collaborative, and positive attitude in all interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement in all aspects of the work.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, managing tasks effectively and learning new processes quickly.
- Safely lift and move items up to 45 lbs as required by the role.
- Work overtime Monday through Friday and some weekends when needed to support production and customer requirements.
- Proven experience assembling, testing, inspecting, and repairing electro-mechanical assemblies, preferably in a robotics or complex machinery environment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and PCB layout files accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to install and remove small parts and screws with hand tools without causing damage.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly using hand tools and power tools.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical assembly, wiring, and machine building or machine build activities.
- Ability to perform accurate blueprint reading and apply it to assembly and inspection tasks.
- Competence in using measurement tools such as micrometers and other inspection equipment.
- Working knowledge of soldering and de-soldering small electronic components.
- Ability to set up test benches with power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators following instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere strictly to processes and procedures.
- Good computer skills with the ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry, including use of MES software.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area while following safety protocols.
- Capability to safely lift up to 45 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime Monday through Friday and some weekends if needed.
- Experience with robot repair, refurbishment, or robotics manufacturing is highly desired.
- Ability to modify wire harnesses and PCB boards is highly desired.
- Experience with soldering and de-soldering small electronic components is a plus.
- Ability to set up and operate test equipment such as power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators is highly desired.
- Experience supporting warehouse and inventory duties, including pre-count inventory, is beneficial.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a robotics manufacturing environment focused on the assembly, testing, repair, and refurbishment of robotic parts and machines. You will work with hand tools, power tools, micrometers, soldering equipment, and electronic test equipment such as power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, and you will be expected to maintain a clean and orderly work area. Work is typically performed on-site during standard weekday hours, with overtime required Monday through Friday and some weekends when production needs demand it. The role involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive assembly tasks, handling electronic and mechanical components, and safely lifting up to 45 lbs in a shop or production-floor setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
