Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift located in an acute care healthcare facility. The RN will provide specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safe and efficient post-operative management. The role emphasizes patient assessment, education, medication administration, and collaboration within a dynamic clinical environment.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  The PACU RN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing postoperative nursing care for patients. The RN serves as a primary caregiver, ensuring adherence to standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Bill of Patient Rights.
• Schedule:
  Nights, 4 x 10-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years, with current NYS RN License, BLS certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross), and familiarity with EPIC.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, professional certification in a related nursing specialty, and relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the home unit assigned.
• Responsibilities:
  • Titrate vasoactive drips such as cleviprex and levophed.
  • Manage sedation for ventilated patients using Precedex and Propofol, often concurrently.
  • Educate patients and families, administer medications, and coordinate care for post-operative patients.
  • Follow all required clinical standards and safety protocols.
  • Support professional development through ongoing continuing education and mandatory training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
