Location: Nags Head Nags Head is a scenic Outer Banks coastal community known for its beautiful beaches, laid-back atmosphere, and waterfront lifestyle. Position Overview An established hospital in Nags Head, NC is seeking a Locum Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for inpatient Emergency Department coverage. Candidates must have recent ED inpatient experience within the last 12 months. This is a no-call opportunity within a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment. Coverage Needed 7:00 AM 7:00 PM 4/6/2026 5/17/2026 5/23/2026 5/29/2026 5/30/2026 10:00 AM 10:00 PM 4/3/2026 4/12/2026 5/10/2026 2:00 PM 12:00 AM 5/13/2026 5/14/2026 5/22/2026 6:00 PM 6:00 AM 4/30/2026 5/1/2026 5/2/2026 5/3/2026 5/4/2026 5/5/2026 5/9/2026 5/10/2026 Facility Details 21-bed hospital 24-hour Emergency Department Average inpatient census: 20 Established team of 6 physicians and 3 APPs Specialty consult availability: general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and telestroke System-wide EMR: EPIC No ICU/Critical Care duties No call required Provider responsible for responding to codes Requirements Active North Carolina license Active NC DEA BLS, ACLS, and PALS/APLS certifications (American Heart Association) ED inpatient experience within the last 12 months required Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care setting Compensation $100 per hour Weekly pay and malpractice coverage included.
