We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Administrative Analyst, CAR/W . Location: California State University, Office of the Chancellor, headquarters in Long Beach, California. Compensation Anticipated salary up to $74,160 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. CSU Classification Salary Range: $63,288 – $92,208 per year (Step 1 to Step 20). Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 9 ($74,160 per year). Position Information The Administrative Analyst, CAR/W coordinates budget analysis, procurement, purchasing, event planning, travel, data management, communications, and office operations for the CSU Center for the Advancement of Reading and Writing (CAR/W). Responsibilities Budget Management: update and monitor program and grant budgets; reconcile accounts; provide fiscal guidance; initiate faculty buyouts; support the annual budget process; develop systems to monitor financial transactions. Accounts Payable and Procurement: monitor and process departmental financial transactions; reconcile the department credit card; assist with RFPs and contracts; manage contract agreements. Travel: coordinate authorized travel, plan schedules, obtain approvals, and process reimbursements. General Operations Support: assist student assistant personnel documentation and recruitment; provide training; facilitate timekeeping; provide high‑level customer service; coordinate correspondence; participate in training programs. Other Duties: support department staff; assist with special projects; act as backup for administrative staff as directed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year university (or equivalent education/experience). Minimum three years of progressive financial and accounting experience. Minimum three years of administrative experience. Proficiency with current computer platforms and programs (Smartsheet, Microsoft Office/Excel, Adobe Creative Cloud). Experience with general ledger functions and month‑end/year‑end close process. Experience with accounts payable and receivable. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills related to budget and project data. Strong organizational skills with confidentiality, accuracy, attention to detail. Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment; prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment. Intermediate knowledge of unit budgets, contracting, procurement, travel, and event planning. Background check required prior to employment.
