  • Establish team priorities, assign work, manage resources, and ensure successful delivery of software development projects and operational support activities.
  • Remain actively involved in the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of software applications, databases, integrations, and manufacturing systems.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for the company's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and related production-critical software platforms.
  • Collaborate with department Director and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Own software solutions throughout the full development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
  • Design and oversee scalable application architectures and integration strategies that support long-term business growth and operational reliability.
  • Lead technical reviews, code reviews, architectural discussions, and solution design activities.
  • Support the design, administration, optimization, security, and maintenance of relational databases, data models, stored procedures, queries, reporting tools, and integrations.
  • Drive adoption of development standards, source control practices, documentation standards, testing methodologies, security controls, and code quality expectations.
  • Manage project planning, prioritization, status reporting, risk mitigation, and resource allocation for the software development team.
  • Provide escalation support for complex production issues and coordinate timely resolution of software, application, database, and integration-related problems.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure software solutions effectively support business and production objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend technical solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps that align with organizational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive software development experience supporting complex business and manufacturing environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience developing, enhancing, and supporting web applications using Apache Grails, Groovy, and/or comparable full-stack web application frameworks.
  • Strong experience with SQL schema design, relational database architecture, stored procedure development, query optimization, ORM frameworks, and database administration.
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or other production-critical manufacturing software platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams while remaining actively engaged in software development and support activities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound technical and business decisions.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts, provide constructive guidance, and communicate data-driven insights.
