Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Lumber Receiver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming lumber and building materials. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload lumber, plywood, and other building materials from delivery trucks.
• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and quality.
• Verify packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
• Label, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse or yard locations.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
• Keep receiving, warehouse, and yard areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.
• Communicate with vendors, drivers, and team members regarding deliveries and inventory issues.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous receiving, warehouse, lumber yard, or construction materials experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
• Basic computer and inventory management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
