Pipeline InspectorAs a Pipeline Inspector, you will be responsible for performing daily inspections of construction projects to ensure quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Your expertise may span multiple inspection disciplines, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, among others. You will conduct visual and physical inspections, field testing, and prepare detailed inspection reports to document observations and testing of materials. Additionally, you will communicate findings to the engineer or project manager and collaborate with the project team to address potential issues, all while adhering to strict safety standards.Responsibilities:Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed to ensure work is done according to contract specifications.Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Provide clear documentation of findings and results.Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.Conduct basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.Interact with clients and site personnel to provide input on resolution of findings.Assist Project Manager in the development of scope for testing and inspection services.Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and Office Managers.Maintain equipment operation and work with other inspectors on complex projects.Follow safety rules and practices for all projects and perform pre-task planning.Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Essential Skills:Minimum 2 years' experience with structural steel bolting and structural steel welding.Experience with gas pipeline inspection.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Knowledge of construction inspection techniques and procedures.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Valid driver's license required.CWI Certification preferred.Experience with nuclear density gauge and aggregate testing.Knowledge of ACI, ICC, proprietary anchors, post tensioning, and structural wood.Why Work Here?You will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, with a focus on utility-grade pipeline work primarily in the Greater Escanaba, MI area. The work is conducted in collaboration with DTE and involves working on utility-grade pipeline projects, ensuring a dynamic and challenging work environment.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
