Children's Ministry Nursery Sunday Staff POSITION: Children’s Ministry Nursery Staff – Redeemer East Side DEPARTMENT: Children’s Ministry DATE: Immediate + training prior to start date + 90 day probationary period HOURS WORKED: 3-4 hours on Sundays, these hours are subject to change. SALARY: $21/hr FLSA: non-exempt JOB DESCRIPTION: Children's Ministry Nursery Staff will provide a safe, fun, gospel-centered environment for children ages infant and up on Sunday mornings during our worship service.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be available to work on Sundays mornings from 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM. Attend mandatory training sessions each year to review policies & procedures. This is to help build community so that as a staff we can continue to serve Redeemer East Side Kids safely and effectively. Physical activity is required, including playing with children on the floor, picking up children/comforting them, changing diapers & escorting kids to the restroom. Must be willing to teach & sing to children in the classroom. Must be flexible and willing to serve in different classrooms as needed. Give at least 2 weeks notice prior to being absent . If ill, please notify the Senior Early Education Coordinator as soon as possible. Permitted 4 unpaid vacation days for the ministry year. Work on Easter plus at least one Sunday during the winter holidays (around Christmas/New Year's). Work on Lessons and Carols Sunday (typically the third Sunday in December). A commitment to serve 1 year from start date.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Heart for God, families and children. Must have at least 2 years of experience with working with children (ie. classroom, nanny/babysitting). Must be able to lead and take charge of the classroom; remain level-headed when the classroom environment is stressful with children who are upset. Must be able to talk with parents and lead volunteers in the classroom. Must be a team player and have character qualities such as integrity, wisdom and good judgment. Warm and engaging personality that is welcoming to parents and children, especially those children who may have difficulty separating from their parents. Must pass Redeemer background check. Use of Hiring Technology As part of our recruitment process, we may use technology-assisted tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to help review applications and identify candidates whose qualifications align with the requirements of the role. AI can assist us in evaluating skills, qualifications, experience, or certain keywords. These tools support, but do not replace, human review and decision-making. Recording of interviews is done solely for the purpose of note-taking or transcribing the conversation,and human review is conducted of the notes prior to connecting them with an applicant's file.
