School Speech Therapist | Hamden, Connecticut

Seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to support 5th and 6th grade students in a dynamic school setting located in Hamden, CT. This full-time, contract position begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year. The role requires onsite presence and offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with school-aged children, specializing in speech and language development.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide speech and language therapy services to 5th and 6th grade students
• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Present and manage clinical fellowships (CFs) within the caseload as part of mentorship and supervision
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to school policies and regulations

Qualifications:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year status (SLP-CFY)
• Experience in school-based speech-language pathology preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage and motivate children from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of applicable school therapy practices and protocols
