Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse position is located in a high-volume, Level I trauma facility in Saint Louis. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, primarily handling cardiac and thoracic cases, with a focus on transplant and complex vascular surgeries. The position requires working nights with a rotating shift schedule, engaging in emergent and urgent cases within a busy cardiac surgery service line.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, rotating as needed
• Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 2 years of cardiothoracic, thoracic, or vascular operating room experience; BSN preferred; experience with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular critical cases; experience in Level I trauma facilities preferred; on-call responsibilities not required, no call for night shift.
• Preferred Qualifications: Scrub and circulate experience in cardiovascular surgery; transplant experience (liver, kidney, pancreas, Whipple procedures); experience with complex vascular and hybrid procedures; familiarity with EPIC charting system; previous trauma level I experience.
• Additional Information: Must have scrubbed in cardiovascular procedures, circulating required; night shift with specific focus on transplant and open heart cases; on-site orientation and parking provided; minimum 75 miles from the facility; license in hand required at submission; no more than 7 days of time off requested; work within service line and float as needed.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS are mandatory; all applicable certifications must be current prior to start.
