Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Nurse located in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within the cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery units. The position offers a dynamic environment focused on urgent emergent cases, requiring experienced professionals to work collaboratively in a high-level care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certification in ACLS and BLS; 2 years of experience in operating room open heart procedures; experience with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases; valid license in Missouri or eligible for licensure; at least 75 miles from the facility; previous trauma level I experience preferred; scrub and circulate experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree; experience with cardiac transplants, organ donation procedures, and high-acuity emergent cases; familiarity with electronic charting systems, specifically EPIC.
• Additional Information: This role involves working rotating shifts as determined by unit needs, including weekdays, call shifts, and potential holidays. The department handles urgent care cases, with an emphasis on rapid response times. Experience in heart and lung transplants and vascular procedures is required, especially for night shifts. All staff are responsible for entering missing instruments into the system during procedures.
