Position Overview:


We seek a motivated and organized Paralegal to join our team for in-house Counsel at Martinez & Dieterich Legal Group. The role involves providing high-quality administrative and legal support to our in-house counsel, ensuring the protection of our policy holder and the company's legal interests.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain case files, request necessary documents, and keep cases well-organized
• Manage and review the legal calendar, meet deadlines, document actions and input information into the file database.
• Draft legal documents and standard letter and assist with drafting pleadings, drafting responses, drafting motions, and order to file with the court, scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and electronic filings.
• Interface with clients, claims adjusters, court clerks, and court reporters.
• Review, document, and distribute mail and e-mails as necessary.
• Required knowledge of the litigation process including opening new files, answering discovery, filing motions and pleadings, maintaining and scheduling appointments, and assist in trial preparation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant
• Must be proficient with the State E-Filing system
• Proficiency in all aspects of the civil litigation process and rules
• Computer literacy is essential
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are a plus
