Accountant Senior

Full Time Professional AZ, Marana, AZ, US Salary Range: $66,000.00 To $105,000.00 Annually This position can be located in MT or in AZ in proximity to the S&K offices in either state. As the Senior ESS Accountant, your work includes, but is not limited to, working closely with the Assistant Controller to assist with monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing processes, reconciling all corporate level tax activity by state, county, and city, and being responsible for the accurate, timely update for all tax registry and company set up per state as needed. You will manage the Corporate Registry Inbox and partner across other departments to timely disseminate critical and time‑sensitive documents. This role also includes active participation in ongoing audits, self‑audits, and financial analytics and reporting. Accounting Assist with month‑end, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes within the accounting system preparing reports such as balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other documents. Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Collect data and compile needed accounting reports and assist the Controller with accounting record management and retention in compliance with GAAP. May assist in the collection of financial data and prepare analytics for reporting on the forecast company business activity and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, earnings, and expected operational growth. Act as backup for weekly accounts payable and receivable processing. Maintain accurate financial records. Financial Analysis and Planning Assist with month‑end, quarterly, and annual financial analysis and planning processes within the ESS BU. Manage construction project financial performance data and provide support to ESS BU operations staff. Produce/assist in producing WIP schedules, project and company‑specific budgets and forecasts. Assist with creation of proposals for new projects using historical data and information provided by operations staff. Review cross‑system data between accounting system and operational platforms for integrity and consistency. Reporting & Audit May be required to interface with our public accounting audit firm with Assistant Controller oversight. Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements, working with our public accounting auditors. Administer internal controls and audits of procedures intended to preserve the organization’s assets. Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. Experience Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required. Demonstrated proficiency in A/P, A/R, GL Reconciliation, Financial Reporting. Demonstrated proficiency in evaluation of financial information to support operational decision‑making. Demonstrated proficiency in applying GAAP and applicable regulations. License, Cert or Registration C.P.A Preferred. Special knowledge, skills, & abilities Must be very organized. Superior accuracy, attention to detail and organization skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with a variety of customer groups and external vendor services. Experience with Microsoft Office apps and Microsoft 365. Use of Deltek/Costpoint strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills, technical accounting proficiency, effective problem‑solving skills and strong ability to interpret accounting information/reports. Ability to work under pressure and cultivate and develop key relationships. Strong oral and written communication skills required, along with the ability to effectively interface with external contacts, internal management, and accounting and finance team.
