Commercial Loan Processor - FHA MAP/LEAN Approved

Summary

Churchill Stateside Group, LLC (CSG) is seeking a Commercial Loan Processor FHA MAP/LEAN to join its growing Affordable Housing Finance team. This position is being added to support continued growth in CSGs loan production platform and will play an integral role in the efficient processing and execution of commercial real estate financing transactions.

The Commercial Loan Processor FHA MAP/LEAN will have primary responsibility for supporting FHA-insured multifamily and healthcare loan transactions under HUDs Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) and LEAN programs. The position will coordinate transaction documentation, due diligence, third-party reports, borrower information, underwriting requirements, and will be responsible for coordinating the loan closing process from commitment through funding and final closing.

While FHA MAP/LEAN transactions will represent the positions primary area of responsibility, the individual will be cross-trained across CSGs broader commercial lending products and financing platforms. This approach is intended to provide operational flexibility, support the continued growth of the organization, and provide the successful candidate with broader commercial real estate finance experience.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented commercial loan professional who can effectively manage multiple transactions, anticipate processing requirements, communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance lending environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FHA MAP/LEAN Loan Processing

• Coordinate the processing of FHA-insured multifamily and healthcare loan transactions from application through underwriting submission, commitment, and closing.
• Serve as a central point of coordination for transaction documentation, due diligence requirements, third-party reports, borrower information, and internal processing requirements.
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor comprehensive loan processing checklists and transaction timelines.
• Collect, organize, and perform an initial review of borrower, property, organizational, financial, and transaction documentation for completeness and consistency.
• Assist in the preparation and assembly of FHA MAP and LEAN underwriting submissions in accordance with applicable HUD requirements and CSG policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with borrowers, sponsors, originators, underwriters, analysts, legal counsel, third-party consultants, and other transaction participants to obtain required documentation and resolve outstanding processing items.
• Coordinate and track third-party reports, including appraisals, market studies, environmental reports, architectural and engineering reports, property condition assessments, surveys, title documentation, and other transaction-specific due diligence.
• Monitor outstanding underwriting, commitment, and closing conditions and proactively follow up with responsible parties to support timely resolution.
• Review transaction documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and appropriate execution prior to submission for underwriting or closing.
• Assist the FHA underwriting team with the preparation, organization, and management of exhibits, supporting documentation, and responses to HUD requests or conditions.

Commercial Loan Processing and Cross-Training

• Cross-train on CSGs broader commercial real estate and affordable housing financing products to provide processing support across the organization as business needs require.
• Develop a working knowledge of the documentation, due diligence, underwriting, and closing requirements associated with CSGs various lending platforms.
• Provide processing and transaction coordination support for non-FHA commercial loan transactions when workload, staffing, or business priorities require.
• Work collaboratively with other loan processors, underwriters, analysts, closers, originators, and servicing personnel to support efficient transaction execution across product lines.
• Assist with workload coverage during periods of increased transaction volume, employee absences, or other operational needs.

Transaction Management and Coordination

• Manage multiple active transactions simultaneously while maintaining accurate records of transaction status, deadlines, outstanding items, and responsible parties.
• Proactively identify potential documentation gaps, processing delays, or transaction issues and escalate matters to the appropriate team member when necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with internal transaction teams regarding loan status, upcoming deadlines, outstanding requirements, and potential risks to the transaction timeline.
• Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and transaction updates as necessary to facilitate efficient execution.
• Lead the coordination of transactions from commitment through closing and funding, ensuring all required parties, documentation, conditions, and deadlines are effectively managed.
• Ensure that transaction files are complete, organized, and maintained in accordance with applicable internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Closing Coordination

• Take primary responsibility for coordinating the loan closing process from commitment through funding and final closing.
• Develop, maintain, and manage closing checklists, timelines, outstanding conditions, and required deliverables to support timely and efficient transaction closings.
• Serve as a central point of coordination among borrowers, originators, underwriters, legal counsel, title and escrow professionals, third-party consultants, closing personnel, and other transaction participants.
• Coordinate the collection, review, organization, and delivery of documents required to satisfy commitment, closing, and funding conditions.
• Proactively monitor outstanding closing items, follow up with responsible parties, identify potential delays, and escalate material issues when necessary.
• Coordinate closing calls and transaction status meetings as appropriate and communicate closing timelines, responsibilities, and outstanding requirements to relevant parties.
• Take primary responsibility for coordinating the loan closing process, including final loan documents, organizational documents, title and survey matters, insurance requirements, funding documentation, and other closing deliverables.
• Work closely with internal and external counsel to facilitate the preparation, review, execution, and delivery of closing documentation.
• Confirm that required closing conditions and deliverables have been completed or appropriately addressed prior to funding.
• Coordinate the orderly transfer of completed loan files and relevant documentation to Loan Servicing and other post-closing functions.

Client Service and Communication

• Provide responsive, professional, and timely communication to borrowers, clients, third-party providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Support a positive client experience by clearly communicating documentation requirements, transaction status, and outstanding items.
• Exercise sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential borrower, financial, and transaction information.
• Develop effective working relationships with internal departments and external transaction participants.

Process Improvement and Organizational Support

• Identify opportunities to improve loan processing workflows, documentation standards, checklists, and internal procedures.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized processing tools, templates, and best practices.
• Support departmental initiatives designed to improve efficiency, scalability, quality control, and transaction execution.
• Remain current on relevant FHA MAP/LEAN requirements, commercial real estate lending practices, and CSG policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in commercial real estate lending, commercial loan processing, loan coordination, underwriting support, closing, or a related financial services role.
• Experience supporting commercial real estate or multifamily loan transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, due diligence processes, and transaction workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with borrowers, clients, senior management, and internal and external transaction professionals.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience processing or supporting FHA-insured multifamily or healthcare loan transactions.
• Experience of 3 to 5 years with HUD MAP and/or LEAN programs.
• Familiarity with HUD handbooks, program requirements, loan exhibits, third-party reports, and FHA underwriting submission processes.
• Experience within an FHA-approved lender, including MAP and LEAN, commercial mortgage banking firm, bank, or other commercial real estate finance organization.
• Experience with affordable housing finance, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions.
• Familiarity with multiple commercial real estate financing products and transaction structures.

EDUCATION

A bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant commercial lending experience may be considered.
