The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, tool wear, and basic program issues.
• Load and unload bar stock, ensuring proper material handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, G-code, and M-code.
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, and their application for various materials.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for program generation and simulation.
• Proficiency in using a wide range of precision measuring tools, including CMMs or optical comparators.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC Swiss lathes.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in part inspection.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment, including participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
