Position Summary

Reports directly to the Division Manager and is responsible for showroom flooring selections, inside and outside flooring sales, and developing business in the new construction residential, commercial, and retail markets. This position works closely with customers, builders, sales, operations, and management to support customer satisfaction and help achieve overall company sales goals.

• Showroom Selections: Assist builder customers and other clients with flooring selections and product recommendations. Meet, greet, and communicate professionally with customers and potential clients.
• Inside and Outside Sales: Generate and develop sales leads within the residential, commercial, new construction, and retail markets. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers.
• Customer Service: Provide responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, encourage repeat business, and develop new business opportunities.
• Builder Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts within assigned builder accounts at all levels of the organization.
• Product Selection: Recommend appropriate flooring products based on the characteristics of the space, design, style, functionality, and customer needs. Assist with selecting new products for the flooring program.
• Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret basic blueprints to understand project requirements and assist with appropriate flooring selections and the sales process.
• Estimating and Proposals: Prepare timely bids, accurate proposals, and material takeoffs for commercial and residential projects.
• Orders and Documentation: Receive purchase orders from builders and prepare selection sheets, cut sheets, and other documentation needed for internal processing. Maintain accurate and organized paperwork.
• Product Oversight: Monitor products being used from the showroom and provide input regarding products that should be added, removed, or updated within the flooring program.
• Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with sales, operations, management, and other relevant departments to coordinate project requirements, scheduling, and customer needs.
• Sales and Project Support: Work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Market Knowledge: Knowledge of the builder market and the order-to-ship process is preferred.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate degree or higher preferred; however, relevant professional experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience in flooring sales, construction, residential or commercial building, customer service, or a related field is preferred.

No certifications or licenses are required.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
