Overview of Role / Role Purpose

The Discovery Analyst role has accountability for identification of new and current systems or applications, data repositories, Saas solutions, and digital systems targeted for GTS M&A activities.
The Discovery Analyst is required to accurately uncover all systems considered in-scope for the M&A project, recognize required access for current user base, and anticipate future disposition of each system within the Gallagher Enterprise.
The role will conduct site visits with M&A targets, both virtual and in-person, to investigate and gain a complete understanding of their IT environment.
They will produce documentation for system design, infrastructure requirements, security assessment, data structure, and systems identification for the entire scope of the M&A project.
This position will report to the Due Diligence and Discovery Lead, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership supporting Global M&A integrations.

Core Responsibilities

Capture and detail existing IT Infrastructure and networking estate of an acquisition target including in-depth investigation and subsequent reporting and highlighting of security risks and remediation activity needed to ensure compliance with Gallagher standards.
Support (secondary focus) the capture and detail existing Application and Digital estate of an acquisition target, including in-depth investigation and subsequent reporting and highlighting of security risks and remediation activity needed to ensure compliance with Gallagher standards
Good understanding of diverse technologies including but not limited to Citrix; VMWare; Exchange; HP hardware; Active Directory; DNS; DHCP; SAN storage; SCCM; M365; Azure
Assist in preparing and presenting documents to support progress of Due Diligence and Discovery to Gallagher Senior Management.
Working with various stakeholders, including business leaders, architects, IT teams, vendors, and customers, to understand their systems.
Ensure that Applications are documented with High and low level designs, build documentation, Appication handover and DR documentation.

Key Skills and Experience

Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders
Insurance industry expertise (including insurance technologies and vendors)
Experience of M&A - from DD through to Transition especially in the IT Infrastructure and then linking that in to the Application & Digital migration space.
Expertise in cloud services, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Data as a Service (DaaS), microservices, and API's
Technical capability across IT Infrastructure, Telephony, End User Devices (EUD), Printing, Data, Application and Digital subject areas.
A solid understanding of how applications interact with the Windows Operating System is an essential part of this role
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, enabling the presentation of complex technical solutions.
