Job Overview Engineering technicians perform scheduled as well as unscheduled maintenance tasks. They must possess strong electrical and mechanical skills to support the production technician in maintaining an efficient operation. Licenses required by city or state to work with boilers, refrigeration and various other equipment must be held or obtainable. Engineers technicians must have the aptitude for continuous training due to ongoing technological improvements. Engineering Technicians III must have received training in all required skillsets on current level and below. Technicians must be flexible and adaptable as they will rotate job assignments throughout engineering and production. They must also maintain a safe work environment for themselves and fellow technicians. They must be proficient in the use of SAP, including data input, retrieval, reporting, and other functions as instructed. They must demonstrate competency for all on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, and/or quality. Responsibilities Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks. Perform scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery. Respond to and correct equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdowns; troubleshoot and repair or replace worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc. Operate machine shop equipment, hand tools, power hand tools, and make required parts when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of work area. Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules. Perform other duties deemed integral by management, including fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of experience as a Technician and/or formal training or experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; welding, electronics, electrical repairs, industrial equipment installations, alignment, start‑up repairs, etc. Essential Requirements High school diploma or equivalency plus no less than a 9/12 month vocational/technical certification course. Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or two or more years of college education may substitute for vocational technical training. “Other technical training” may include completion of an AIB maintenance engineering course.
