Kitchen Assistant

Location: Arch Recovery Center – 132 William Lane, Mount Clare, WV 26408
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Arch Recovery Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support daily food service operations within our residential treatment facility. This position assists with meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, dishwashing, and maintaining a safe and sanitary food service environment for clients and staff.

The ideal candidate is reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates a positive attitude while working as part of a team. Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

• Assist with preparing and serving meals according to established schedules and guidelines

• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and food storage areas

• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and surfaces

• Assist with stocking food, supplies, and inventory items

• Properly store food items and follow food safety procedures

• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries

• Dispose of trash and maintain clean work areas throughout shifts

• Follow all facility safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures

• Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and other departments

• Perform additional kitchen or housekeeping-related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Some experience in food service, dietary services, or kitchen environments preferred

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and carrying items

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Dependable attendance and punctuality required

• Ability to maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries within a healthcare environment

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching

• Ability to work in hot or fast-paced kitchen environments

This position works primarily in a commercial kitchen and dining environment within a residential behavioral healthcare facility. Weekend, evening, or holiday shifts may occasionally be required based upon operational needs.of our clients.
