Job Title: Part-Time Front Desk Assistant

General Definition: The Wellness Center Front Desk Assistant is the public face of the Wellness Center.  As such the highest expectation of excellence in customer service is required.  Duties will include assisting guests with questions and needs and providing minimal fitness instruction.  The highest duty of this, or any position is timely service to tribal members and patrons.

Supervision Received: Wellness Center Director

Supervision Exercised:     None

Essential Job Functions:

·         Greets the public, patrons, vendors, and visitors as they enter the Wellness Center.

·         Must be able to work with all types of people with a friendly and helpful attitude,

·         Provides minimal fitness instruction including proper use of all equipment within the Center and explains proper body mechanics to all patrons.

·         Maintain accurate check-in records of all fitness patrons.

·         Enforce the policies and procedures of the Wellness Center.

·         Ensure a safe workout environment by routinely assessing cleanliness of facility and working order of all equipment..

·         Administer first aid and CPR appropriately and promptly.

·         Provide tours of facility at request.

·         Attend all required in-services.  Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.

·         Assists with fitness related special events, body composition screenings, Health Fairs, etc.

·         Assists in demonstrations, community meetings in the area of safety, nutrition/diabetes, environmental health, and in other areas of health concerns..

·         Provides up to date information and guidance to resources that promote healthy lifestyles through education, immunization, and clinics.

·         Assist the Wellness Center Director with the daily operations of the fitness center; including but not limited to the following:  routinely wiping down machines, laundering towels, vacuuming, cleaning locker rooms and bathrooms.

·         Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

·         High School Diploma or GED required.

·         An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

·         Excellent customer service

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

·         Must be able to pass an adjudicated background check as a condition of employment.

·         Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.

·         Current valid driver’s license.

·         Positive verifiable references and work history.

·         CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
