Job Summary

We are hiring a Residential Field Technician for a direct hire opportunity serving homeowners throughout the Portland, OR metro area. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and wants a career path with paid training, field support, and high earning potential.

No garage door experience is required. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in construction, automotive repair, HVAC, electrical, maintenance, installation, or other hands-on trades who enjoy working independently and providing excellent customer service. You will receive paid training, hands-on ride-alongs, company tools, and structured processes designed to help you succeed.

This position offers a supportive leadership team, ongoing development, and a performance-based earning structure. Technicians travel directly from home to customer appointments, use a company vehicle, and work with homeowners to diagnose issues, explain solutions, and complete residential garage door and opener repairs.

Key Responsibilities

- Travel directly from home to scheduled residential service appointments throughout the Portland metro area.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose garage door and garage door opener issues.
- Repair and replace components such as springs, cables, openers, rollers, and related hardware.
- Explain repair options clearly to homeowners using a structured good, better, best approach.
- Complete service documentation, collect payments, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Provide professional, customer-focused service that creates a positive homeowner experience.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire, full-time position.
- Paid training program up to 8 weeks.
- $23 per hour during training.
- After training: $18.75 per hour plus commission.
- First-year earning potential: $80,000 to $100,000+.
- Top performers can earn $120,000+ annually.
